The Storyline and Fresh Faces The film's narrative are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, spotlighting a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is portrayed as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games. The cast also includes several prominent actors in key parts: Jesse Plemons steps into the role of Plutarch Heavensbee. Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a younger version of the calculating President Snow. Regarding the shoot: Principal photography commenced in the summer of 2025. Filming was completed in November of the same year. The much-discussed film is slated for November 2026 premiere.
