American-Palestinian Adolescent Released Following Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

A Palestinian-American teenager who spent nine months in imprisonment by Israel without charge has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old at the time of his arrest last February throughout the West Bank territory, during a family visit from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

United States authorities said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, family members reported.

Family described him as visibly pale and thin, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Right now, we are focused on providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery following exposure to mistreatment by authorities and brutal treatment throughout his detention."

US officials announced ongoing to extend consular services to the teenager's relatives.

{"The Trump Administration has no higher priority than the safety and security for United States citizens"," officials stated.

A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to US authorities and the White House, requesting additional efforts to release him.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business from Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt to throwing stones due to physical abuse.

There were no visits or communicated with his son following the detention, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed absent formal charges in Ofer prison on the West Bank.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities and murder.

There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Many have never been charged while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, report instances of abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said they would maintain their efforts seeking justice for their relative their cousin Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials was beaten to death by Israeli settlers amid clashes in July.

During that period, the Israeli military said officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian was deceased.

Both young men had worked together within the family's frozen treats establishment based in Florida.

No charges have been filed with Sayfollah's killing.

"We expect United States leadership to safeguard our relatives," Mr Kadur said.
